This VR game is based on Agatha Christie’s mystery novel And Then There Were None. Unlike the novel, the game lets the player change the tragic ending. The player is trapped on a cruise ship with several other people, and one of them is a serial killer. A poem gives the clues. The player must find certain objects to save the others and themselves, and then leave the ship.

Each level is one scene, and the player has a limited time to find the objects. The player cannot walk around with the headset on. Instead, they move the character with the hand controller and turn their head to look around. Some objects can be opened. To open a box or pick up an object, the player looks at it and uses the controller.

Each level starts with a monologue that gives a line of the poem and hints about what to find. When the player solves the riddle and finds the objects, the game confirms it and the next level starts. If the player saves everyone on the ship, they win.

We designed the scenes and controls to be comfortable. For example, we left out zooming to reduce motion sickness. One round takes 10 to 15 minutes. The scenes are built in 3D, with each object placed and rotated in 3D space. Conversations use Dialogue System, a less common tool with few learning resources, because it makes the story more immersive. Animations add to the VR experience.
